Protection of Child Rights Policy
As Sherwood Resorts and Hotels, we recognise the protection of children's rights as a fundamental responsibility within the scope of our activities and act in accordance with the applicable national legislation and international conventions to which the Republic of Türkiye is a party. Unless applicable legislation provides for an earlier age of legal adulthood, any individual under the age of eighteen is considered a child.
As Sherwood Resorts and Hotels:
We respect every child's right to life, survival, development, education, health, an adequate standard of living, rest, play, and participation in cultural and artistic life. We prioritise the creation of safe and appropriate conditions that support children's physical, mental, psychological, moral, and social development.
We act in the best interests of the child and respect children's right to express their views freely, considering their age and level of maturity. We respect children's freedom of thought, conscience, religion, culture, and language and do not permit discrimination against any child on any grounds.
We undertake to protect children from all forms of abuse, neglect, violence, ill-treatment, sexual exploitation, and sexual abuse. We adopt a zero-tolerance approach to the economic exploitation of children and their employment that may harm their health or development and prohibit child labour. We take the necessary measures to prevent the abduction, sale, trafficking, or use of children in illegal activities.
We support the protection of children against the illicit use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, and from their involvement in the illicit production or trafficking of such substances. We take the necessary preventive measures against any practices that may threaten children's physical and psychological safety.
We ensure that our employees are made aware of children's rights and child protection. We make sure children's rights and the prevention of child abuse are included in employee orientation and periodic training programmes. If employees encounter or suspect any incident of child abuse, neglect, or any situation that threatens a child's safety, they are required to report it without delay to the relevant Company managers and the competent public institutions and authorities, in accordance with applicable legislation.
As Sherwood Resorts and Hotels, we assess risks related to the protection of children's rights within the scope of our activities, take the necessary preventive and corrective measures, and continuously support the implementation of this policy, always prioritising the best interests of the child. All employees and relevant parties are required to act in accordance with the fundamental principles of this policy.
