Our corporate vision, mission, values, and policies guide us in fulfilling these responsibilities.
ABOUT THE REPORTOur goal is to complete the process of transforming employees and employers into green-collar workers through the training and consultancy received by those working for Sustainable Tourism and Green Evolution. In line with this, we aim to align the service processes, practices, and infrastructure of our facilities with sustainability, following the transformation of both green-collar employees and employers. By implementing technical measures, we strive to achieve positive economic and environmental results, such as reducing energy and water consumption, transitioning to renewable energy sources, implementing waste reduction and recycling practices, minimizing chemical usage, and applying environmentally friendly solutions.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT- On World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5th, all our hotels participate in beach cleaning activities along with other eco-friendly hotels.
- Regular beach cleaning is conducted in collaboration with all hotel staff across our properties.
- Annual training sessions on Environmental Legislation and Waste Management are regularly organized for our hotel staff.
- Live waste boards displaying waste types and their decomposition periods in nature are provided in all hotels within the Greenwood Resorts & Hotels portfolio.

- Green Teams are established in all our hotels within the Greenwood Resorts & Hotels, featuring a Green Team board in guest areas, outlining the responsibilities of team members.
- In 2016, Greenwood Hotels created an environmental magazine to provide guests with information on environmental conservation and sustainable environmental practices.
- When purchasing products, priority is given to environmentally friendly items, and collaboration is established with suppliers supporting sustainable environmental practices, as specified in the procurement procedure.
- An exchanger system was installed to utilize daily heat more efficiently. As a result, it was observed that boilers did not operate past 6:00 PM. Following this implementation, a decrease in natural gas consumption was noted.
- Limescale deposits in boilers and coils were cleaned, and a cleaning schedule and procedure were established. This led to a slight energy savings and contributed to the reduction in natural gas consumption.
- The cleaning of the glass surfaces of solar panels is performed monthly, and by adjusting the cleaning frequency to a weekly basis, the energy transfer is optimized to be at its maximum level.
- In the effort to combat Legionella, the practice of increasing the temperature values in weekly lines was implemented, using water from solar energy. Solar energy performance was enhanced to achieve a 65°C water temperature, resulting in an 84% solar energy performance.
- To promote water conservation, water-saving devices were installed on faucets, resulting in a noticeable reduction in water consumption.
- Room and common area reservoirs are equipped with dual-flush mechanisms for water conservation.
- Regular training sessions are conducted for our staff every year on water conservation and prompt intervention in case of water leaks.
- Guests are guided to practice water conservation through the distribution of flyers and stickers in rooms and common areas.
- A pool backwashing procedure was established to conserve water consumption.
- Seals were developed to prevent water leaks in pumps.
- Water leaks in pool circulation, balance tanks, and filters were addressed.
- During pool operation, daily backwashing with 1% fresh water discharge is carried out. In the summer months, to prevent bacterial formation due to the increase in pool temperature, frequent backwashing and water addition attempts were made to lower the pool temperature. As a solution, the addition of ice to the pool was implemented, resulting in a decrease in water temperature and subsequent reduction in water consumption.
- We have ongoing projects in our budget plans to achieve more water savings. Our project and cost studies for the chemical treatment of pool backwash waters for recycling in garden irrigation are in progress.
- All our hotels within Greenwood Resorts and Hotels have been granted Connection Quality Control permits based on the criteria compliance of water sample analysis results taken by ASAT (Water Administration) and the adequacy of the conducted checks.
- All our hotels within Greenwood Resorts and Hotels have ASAT Water Usage Protection Plans in place.
- Bacterial applications are carried out to prevent oil formation in wastewater lines and regulate the quality of discharged water. Following these efforts, oil formation in wastewater has been prevented.
- We provide regular training to our hotel staff on electricity conservation, and we guide our guests to practice electricity conservation through flyers and stickers in rooms and common areas.
- Over 90% of the lighting in all our hotels within Greenwood Resorts and Hotels consists of energy-efficient lighting and LED bulbs.
- Sensor-based lighting is used in common areas.
- Annual training sessions are conducted for our staff on electricity conservation.
- Guests are directed to practice electricity conservation through flyers and stickers in rooms and common areas.
- Roof windows are installed for natural ventilation to reduce electricity consumption.
- The cleaning frequency of ice machines was increased from every 15 days to every 7 days, resulting in energy savings due to limescale.
- By creating a cleaning procedure for chiller condensers and towers, maximum heat transfer is ensured, leading to energy savings.
- All our rooms are equipped with switch devices that automatically turn off the air conditioning when balcony doors are opened.
- We continue our efforts to minimize chemical usage without compromising on hygiene and guest satisfaction.
- We provide regular training to our staff on chemical usage every year.
- We collaborate with the supplier of housekeeping chemicals to conduct a joint weight study and manage chemical usage through weekly consumption controls.
- In an effort to reduce consumption of pool chemicals, we entered into a cost-based agreement with the supplier since 2014, resulting in significant savings in 2015. Although the initial data for the first quarter of 2016 shows a 9% reduction, the overall reduction is 28% for the entire operation.
- We organize regular training sessions on Environmental Legislation and Waste Management in our hotels every year.
- By supplying colored waste separation bins to kitchens and bars, we have facilitated central separation with the determination of the color of the bucket and bag for each type of waste.
- We collaborate with relevant companies for the recycling of glass, paper, plastic, and food waste, and monitor the process.
- Flyers and stickers encouraging guests to separate waste are available in rooms and common areas.
- Waste battery boxes are provided for used batteries in our hotels.
